May 12, 2008 Annual Joint Dinner Meeting was a great success!

The Metropolitan Philadelphia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons held its 2008 Joint Dinner Meeting with the Philadelphia Academy of Surgery on May 12, 2008, at The Union League of Philadelphia. 2007 Annual Joint Dinner Speaker

At the 2007 meeting we had an outstanding presentation by Darrell A. Campbell, Jr., MD, FACS. Dr. Campbell is Chief of Clinical Affairs at the University of Michigan Health System and the Henry King Ransom Professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgery. He specializes in solid organ transplantation, particularly kidney, liver, and pancreas. Dr. Campbell is responsible for the overall quality of care delivered at the University of Michigan Health System, and has a special interest in patient safety.

2006 Annual Joint Dinner Speaker

R. Scott Jones, MD, FACS, served as the College’s 82nd President, beginning in October 2001. Dr. Jones currently serves as the S. Hurt Watts Professor of Surgery at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville. In addition, beginning in 2002, Dr. Jones accepted the Director’s position of the College’s Division of Research and Optimal Patient Care, which is responsible for managing and directing the College’s activities related to quality improvement, surgery databases, and surgical research.
